Benjamin E. Casey is a 2023 graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law where he graduated among the top of his class and distinguished himself by graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, Ben served as Articles Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review, participated in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Clinic, where he qualified to serve as a neutral third party under the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, clerked for a prominent personal injury firm, and interned for the Honorable D. Gordon Bryant, Jr., United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Texas. As a judicial intern, Ben worked closely with the Court on a variety of federal matters, where he refined his legal research, writing, and analytical skills while gaining practical insight into federal civil litigation.

Since joining Bustos Law Firm, P.C. in 2023, Ben has represented clients in a wide range of federal and state litigation matters involving commercial, intellectual property, employment, construction, and constitutional law. He has successfully represented clients in complex litigation, including obtaining a nationwide injunction against a United States Department of Labor regulation that sought to amend the Davis-Bacon Act. Ben is admitted to practice before the Northern, Western, and Southern federal district courts in Texas, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Ben remains active in the legal and Lubbock communities. He serves as a Director of the Lubbock Area Bar Association and the Lubbock Roots Historical Arts Council, is a member of the Texas Bar College, the Texas Tech University School of Law American Inn of Court, the Bar Association for the Fifth Federal Circuit, and the West Texas Home Builders Association, and volunteers as a Den Leader with Cub Scouts.

During law school, Ben had two scholarly articles selected for publication: Justice for the New Frontier: How the United Nations Creates a Space Court, 54 Georgetown Journal of International Law 115 (2023), and Project Basics and Renewed Considerations for Texas Nuclear Energy, 2 Texas Tech Journal of the Energy Law Practitioner 61 (2023).
